The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies (CHGS), the Amsterdam Center for International Law (ACIL) and the Peace Palace Library will hold a two-day conference in The Hague to mark the 60th anniversary of the Genocide Convention, on December 7 and 8, 2008.
At this interdisciplinary "60 Years Genocide Convention", historians and lawyers will examine how to achieve a proper balance between the popular perception of genocide and its legal definition, based on the 1948 Convention.
