the Peace Palace was the starting point for the UN's Day of Peace, September 21, in the city of The Hague. A VIP breakfast meeting in the Great Hall of Justice kicked off this annual observance of global non-violence and ceasefire; 1000 schoolchildren set free 1000 balloons from the lawn of the Peace Palace, as part of the celebrations, before going on their march through the city, led by city mayor Mr. Deetman.
